To help stop social violence...

Ban the glorification of violence in Movies and Video Games. Of course people will still find it, but we can make it far less 'cool' to be violent and we must do that now.

The United States of America is the most idealistic and puritanical Nation on Earth.

The United States of America is the most idealistic and puritanical Nation on Earth. I guess since we invented modern democracy we also felt the need to purify ourselves from the monarchies we came from. One way or the other the United States of America is the country that began creating muscular viciously punitive penalties for possession and distribution of Narcotics. Of course prior to that we had also tried to ban the production and usage of alcohol. In retrospect anyone can see that that effort was terribly overly idealistic and also puritanical. All of this idealism would not be a problem if in fact the enforcement of the laws necessary to make our society so ideal and pure did not have negative consequences.

Violence corruption , accidental overdoses from impure alley-produced drugs. Prisons overloaded and growing. Unsolved forever murders.

Here is where our national and continental tragedy of gun violence began.

—--------------------

The Harrison Narcotics Tax Act (Ch. 1, 38 Stat. 785) was a United States federal law that regulated and taxed the production, importation, and distribution of opiates and coca products. The act was proposed by Representative Francis Burton Harrison of New York and was approved on December 17, 1914.[1][2]

"An Act To provide for the registration of, with collectors of internal revenue, and to impose a special tax on all persons who produce, import, manufacture, compound, deal in, dispense, sell, distribute, or give away opium or coca leaves, their salts, derivatives, or preparations, and for other purposes." The courts interpreted this to mean that physicians could prescribe narcotics to patients in the course of normal treatment, but not for the treatment of addiction.[when?]

The Harrison Anti-Narcotic legislation consisted of three U.S. House bills imposing restrictions on the availability and consumption of the psychoactive drug opium. U.S. House bills H.R. 1966 and H.R. 1967 passed conjointly with House bill H.R. 6282 or the Opium and Coca Leaves Trade Restrictions Act.[3][4]

Although technically illegal for purposes of distribution and use, the distribution, sale and use of cocaine was still legal for registered companies and individuals.

—--------------------------

Prior to this change in law the Coca and Poppy plants and derivatives were allowed to be used in food and medicinal products.

Doctors could prescribe these drugs and Coca Cola did contain cocaine.

When Harrison was first enacted it was barely enforced as the government’s focus was on the banning of alcohol. Even when Prohibition was ended many US counties voted themselves dry.
Over the years it became more politically popular to crackdown on other illegal substances like Coca, Poppy and Marijuana and their derivatives.

The result has been the rise of a trillion dollar illegal drug market. The nasty back alley produced illegal drugs are filling the same market that legal drugs used to occupy. That is where most all drug overdoses come from, impure badly produced uncontrolled manufacturers.

Most Gun violence comes from the ‘self-policing’ of this illegal trillion dollar industry. And our prisons are 700% larger than they were when Richard Nixon started the War on Drugs.

And the migrant crisis is mainly fueled by theSouth American Mafia who now control many nations with their billions of dollars in profits.
Migrants are fleeing Mob Rule.

All this thanks to the Harrison Act.
